August 1st

WOW...AUGUST 1ST?...ALREADY? Where the heck did my summer go!?!?! Anyways, yes so it is August 1st on this disgusting hot summer day. Im sitting here, sipping on my nice ice cold water. I just threw on some Johnson's Baby Lotion to soften up these cute hands of mine. Moving on; So last night my buddy Vinit and I went to this amazing raw food/organic restaurant that has EVERYTHING. And when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Products from One Lucky Duck (Pure Food & Wine's Online Shopping Store), Lara Bars, and all the other good stuff. They also feature a very nice juice bar which has nothing but the best of organic products blended into a nice smoothie or frosty. Over the past few days I've been facing challenges of what to eat. Basically I have been eating salads everyday and it tends to get a bit boring after awhile. I promised myself I'd learn how to make some raw foods when I get home and hopefully be able to come up with something on my own rather than eating the same ol boring salad everyday. I def plan on hitting up Pure Food this weekend to get some grub.

As for my weight...Currently I am at 232 lbs. When I started the diet I was at 239 so progress is definitely moving full speed. I look at myself in reflection of the glass everyday at work and I really cannot wait til this weight is gone. I've been big my whole life and everyday it just sickens me more and more. When I work out now, I burn around 650 calories a day. By next week I am hoping to push that up to 800 calories a day. And the week after 1,000 calories and so on and so forth. By the end of August, I am hoping to have reach around 200 lbs. The real deal goal, I have finally decided....*drum roll please*...........................TING!
170lbs.
Yes, I plan on losing close to 60lbs by the end of September. Some people have been discouraging me in doing this but I feel by doing a raw diet that this will be the healthiest way of going about losing weight quickly. Alrighty...time to go back to work. Be back in a few!

Day 5

Alright. So I know I've been a lil behind on these blogs. But I figure, why not write a giant one instead of writing itty bitty ones every single day. Ok so today is day 5, Sunday July 30th 2006. Im sitting here sipping on my passion fruit concoctive that I came up with that includes Apples, Mangos, Passion Fruit, and Carrots. Damn this thing is TASTY!!!! So over the weekend I faced a few challenges but weren't too bad. Friday night I went up to Long Island to chill with wifey and had an awesome time. We went bowling with her cousins and chilled at their crib afterwards. Around 3am we were exhausted so went back to wifey's house and crashed. Of course sticking to Indian standards we were in two separate rooms. Her mom tried making me eat some indian food which was cooked and I couldn't help but saying no to her. It was tough because I do respect uncles and aunties alot and when they offer me food its tough for me to say no. Sometimes I feel as if I am disrespecting them by saying no. I later explained to her the reason for me saying no and right there started a good 45min conversation about raw foods. I could only tell her so much since I myself am still learning about this amazing new lifestyle. Ok so maybe it wasn't a giant one, but i'll def keep up to date on these. PROMISE!

Day 2 Recap - Six Flags

Ok so yesterday I was at Six Flags Great Adventure with the lovely wife, and 3 kids. Now I did speak about this being a challenge in my last blog and YES IT WAS A CHALLENGE! In the morning I didn't get a chance to eat breakfast so we all stopped at the WAWA store next to six flags and picked up some grub. Luckily they had a good variety there so I got myself a simple garden salad, some celery sticks, and carrot sticks. I got a bottle of yogurt just to add some dairy to my diet for the day and throw some carbs in me for energy. So now we move on to Six Flags. Now I always wondered how people could get so fat in America and why obesity is such a huge problem. Yesterday for my own two eyes I finally saw what the problem was. Let me give you a run-down of what exactly Six Flags has to offer...

  • Pizza
  • Candy
  • Hot Dogs
  • Burgers
  • Nachos
  • Mexican Food
  • Chinese Food
  • Fried Chicken
  • Fried Fish
  • Coca Cola brand soda
  • Churros
  • Funnel Cakes
  • French Fries
  • Ice Cream
  • Cheesecake
  • A Deli
  • and finally...A salad
But their salad isn't what you think. This isn't something you would get at cheesecake factory or any other high end restaurant. You'd think being a salad it would have some nutrition to it. Guess again, the most useless salad I've ever had. Iceberg Lettuce, cucumbers, and shreds of carrots topped with some fried chicken. Yes I know, raw food diet, but at this point I was feeling very weak and dizzy. My head felt like it was squeezing against my brain and I was about to go insane so I broke the raw diet for a bit and had the chicken. I did also have some Diet Soda which made me feel like crap. So after a few sips I stopped drinking the soda and filled it up with some water. The water tasted like total crap but I drank it anyways. And that was my last meal for the day. The rest of the day consisted of sipping on water and walking around the park. I def felt exhausted by the end of the day which I guess is a good sign because I am assuming I walked a good 10-15 miles around the park.

And if you're still interested...Here are all the rides I went on...
  • Dare Devil Dive (The giant swing 3 people are attached to)
  • Superman Ultimate Flight
  • EL Toro
  • Medusa
  • Nitro
  • Batman the Ride
  • Skull Mountain
  • Houdini's House
  • Parachute Drop
  • Space Shuttle
  • and KINGDA KA...I recommend you do this at night around 9:30pm...SICK VIEW!
Anyways, I am now going to head out for lunch. I shall return to report some more!

DAY 1 - 2:05 PM

Ok so I just returned back from lunch. Got a yummy salad from Cheesecake factory. Unfortunately I couldn't go completely raw on this one. I had chicken in the salad!!! Anyways, the salad was really good. It consisted of corn, greens, tomatoes, onions, and chicken. The dressing consisted of avocados and balsamic vinergerette. Def a good start to my raw diet, I was really filled up from the salad and I feel really good about myself. Usually I would hit up Chilis on a daily basis and get salads from there but something about those salads just made me always feel like crap. I felt like there was some added preservative or other ingredient which just ruined the whole experience of eating a salad. I mean we all eat salads to stay healthy and to eat properly right!?!?!?

Moving on, so im sitting here at work once again. Bored out of my mind, chit chatting with my buddy Nirav Shah (NSWEB). I cannot wait til this day ends. Tomorrow I will be chillin @ Great Adventure so tomorrow is what I am really going to be looking forward to. Huge challenge seeing that there is nothing but junk food over there. Wish me luck!!! I'll be back in a few to update on my hunger situation LOL.

Day 1 - 10:33 AM

Hi everyone,
This is my personal blog which will cover the next 45 days of my life as I take on a challenge that I never thought I would be doing. I am becoming a raw-foodist for the next 45 days. This basically means no processed food, no meat, and nothing cooked. STRAIGHT UP RAW BABY! I actually got the idea from a few friends who have been on it and some who have just recently started it. I def have to thank my best bud Vinit for pushing me and striving me to do this. The reason im doing this is basically because al
l my life I have been a big guy. I was never huge or obese to the point I couldn't even touch my toes. But I was always on the chubby side and was never happy with the way I looked. I want to take on this challenge in my life to help me live a healthier life, to look better, to feel better, to boost my confidence and improve the way I present myself. So thank you for reading the first paragraph, by this time, I know you're going to be interested. I will be updating this a few times a day so you guys can always check back for some updates. Over the next 45 days you will also check out the progress for my new hindi remix cd which I am very excited to be putting out. MIXOLOGY 2 :: THE MUMBAI AFTER HOURS. I am aiming to get this released by Labor Day Weekend, just in time for all the lovely back to school events around the country! Alright ladies and gentlemen, lets get this shinding started! Come join me as I drop 60lbs, I clear my skin up, I feel better, look better, and perform better in life!!!! LETS GO!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so today is day 1 of my raw food diet. I woke up around 7:30am this morning. Hit the snooze button a few times and finally got my ass out of bed around 8am; Took a shower really quickly, threw some tree wax into my hair to give me that grease lightning shine and headed downstairs. I hadn't gone grocery shopping the night before so I was really unprepared for the day. Luckily over the weekend I did go to Pure Food and Wine (a very lovely raw food restaurant) and picked up some raw cashew nuts. They have a spicey flavor to it which made it even more pleasurable to snack on for breakfast. I had a bag of those along with 4glasses of water to start my day. So 8:50am im off to hit the road and I am actually supposed to call my parnter in the game im playing. I'll talk about that a little later on. Anyways, so I am on the road and my phone dies so lucky me, no phone call to the partner. And now I am sitting here @ work bored out of my mind waiting for my boss to give me something to do. I get paid $12 to surf the internet and chat on AIM. WOOHOO!
